  • You are Beautiful | Healingforyou

God does not look at our outward appearance but our heart (1 Samuel 16:7). When you feel too weak to put on makeup or a smile on your face, when you can't find the strength to go outside or do another day, you can surrender to God's love and grace for you in Jesus Christ. El Roi Sees You. & you don't have to be perfect for Him to love you. In your weakest moments; when you are sick, a mess, all the times when you are broken, God is willing to help you. God knows we are but mere flesh, He is compassionate and forgives us of our iniquity (Psalms 78:38-39, 1 John 1:9). God knows our sinful likeliness yet He sees through all of it and sees His daughter/son. God does not look at our outward appearance but our heart (1 Samuel 16:7). When you feel too weak to put on makeup or a smile on your face, when you can't find the strength to go outside or do another day, you can surrender to God's love and grace. You do not need your parents, your spouse or friends to validate you, Only El Roi who will understand you and never treat you with ill intent. God is willing to meet you where you are, loving you through all your weaknesses. Hebrews 4:13-16 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. I Peter 4:2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. Job 12:7-9 (NIV): "But ask the animals, and they will teach you; ask the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?" We do not need to look at mirrors 24/7. Observe the beauty of dogs and all the animals God created, everything God created is good (Genesis 1:31, 1 Timothy 4:4). They never look in mirrors yet they are so beautiful. They do not need makeup, and the same goes for us. You don't have to put on makeup for God to love you. God actually encourages us not to walk in the lusts of our flesh and self indulgence but walk in the spirit and will of God (1 Peter 4:2, Romans 8:4) He respects you and loves you without having to dress-up a certain way, God wants us to dress with humility (I Peter 5:5). God beautifies the humble with salvation (Psalm 149:4)He loves you because that is who He is: Love (1 John 4:8). We may think makeup protects us from people bullying us but the truth is that Love always protects meaning God will always protect you. The Lord says, "Every tongue that rise up against you, you shall condemn." We truely don't need makeup or dress-up. The greatest command is to walk in love, meaning respecting our husbands, brothers and sisters with our body parts, and respect the God who created it. Our God commands us to be modest and let our beauty not come from outward but inward (1 Timothy 2:9-10, Proverbs 31:30, 1 Peter 3:3-6, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Romans 12:2). I Peter 3:3-6 'Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.' Our Beauty comes from God & The Holy Spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control is beautiful (Galatians 5:22-23), not our corruptible, sinful flesh (1 Corinthians 15:42-54). One day , this flesh will perish so we should focus on cleaning our spirit not self induldging and satisfying our flesh (Galatians 5:16). Have you been called ugly? Out the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, meaning that a person's words reveal what is in their heart rather than anything about you (Luke 6:45, Matthew 12:34). Do not define yourself on the wisdom of man but on the truth of God (Proverbs 3:5-6, 1 Corinthians 2:5). The power of God lives inside you and it threatens the evil one who is the ugly one because it is separated from God (Galatians 2:20, James 3:15-17). 1 Peter 4:4-5 'In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.' When people call you ugly, you can find comfort in the truth that all will have to give account to God (Romans 14:12, 2 Corinthians 5:10) Who is man to define your beauty except our God who created you and sees every part of you? God is the definition of true beauty and we can't even see him. Beauty is in God's purity and holiness. Make-up seperates us from how God originally made us but remember, everything God made is good so always put God first in everything you do. Be aware of the Bondage of needing make-up. Sarai and all the women in the bible are beautiful for their faith in God, nowhere does it speak about their appearance. This battle is the evil one against God, nothing to do with flesh and blood. When someone you ugly, it isn’t about you. It is evil one attacking the Holy Spirit inside of all of us. Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. When you eat, remember life is more than your body. Make your thoughts obedient to Christ (II Corinthians 10:5-7) and don't focus on your outward appearance (such as your weight) which perishes; But receive everything you eat in thanksgiving (1 Timothy 4:4). Set your mind on the spirit not flesh (Romans 8:5-9). Our "last words" on earth won't be "Why did I eat that chocolate cake?" Our corruptible flesh will perish: ( II Corinthians 4:16-18) Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. Our Final Victory (1 Corinthians 15:50-58) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

  • Loneliness | Healingforyou

You are not alone in your suffering. You may feel like God has forsaken or forgotten you but God promises He will NEVER forget you (Isaiah 49:14-15, Deuteronomy 31:6) Isaiah 41:10 You may not fit in, your companions and even family members may come against you, loneliness can test your faith - "Aren't people supposed to show us God's grace and love? especially those of the Church...?" Isaiah 41:10 reminds us of an unshakable truth: You are never alone in this world despite how people treat you. Jesus walks beside us, guiding us through every shadow and uncertainty of this life into His glorious light (John 15:18-21). Though the enemy may instill doubt, and though life’s burdens may feel too heavy, you have nothing to fear because God is on your side, man cannot go against you (Romans 8:31, Psalm 118:6). Jesus is with you, shielding you from every attack. His presence dispels the darkness and will fill you with the strength and courage to keep moving forward (Isaiah 62:8, Isaiah 49:5). Even though evil may surround you, Jesus will hold you with His righteous hand, and His light will guide you through the darkest of alleys (psalm 23:4). You may stumble, but you will not fall because our Savior is by your side. His promise is sure: He will uphold you, strengthen you, and deliver you from every danger (Isaiah 40:30-31, Isaiah 40:29, Isaiah 25:4). When you feel like life is closing in, remember: Jesus has already won the battle (1 Corinthians 15:57). You may face unimaginable difficulties, but through Jesus, you will overcome (1 John 4:4). Let His light fill your heart with hope and know that He is leading you into peace, security, and everlasting joy (Isaiah 61:3). "So do not fear, for I am with you." Everyday of your life is filled with the presence of God (Psalms 139:7-12). God promises to be with you here, now and always. Wherever you are right now as you’re reading these words, God is with you. When you took your first breath, God was there (Jeremiah 1:5). When you are in your darkest moments, God is with you. Wherever you have been, wherever you are, wherever you will be—God is there too. So do not be afraid, you are not alone. How do you see glimpses of God's presence in your everyday life? 1 "Do not be dismayed, for I am your God." We will all have moments of feeling discouraged. God understands what it means to have hard days and tears. God does not expect you to be perfect, He offers you His strength (Ephesians 6:10, Philippians 4:13). It is not about looking like you have it all together; it is about knowing God alone holds us together. Sometimes , we can’t feel it, see it, or imagine it but our victory is still sure in Jesus Christ (Deuteronomy 20:4, Corinthians 15:57). Not because of us or anything we do, but because of the undefeatable God who lives within us. 2 "I will strengthen you and help you." Jesus wept too, He understands your pain. As God strengthened Jesus in His most sorrowful and vulnerable moments, God will strengthen and help you. John 11:32-36: When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”' Mark 14:32-42: Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.” He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. And He said , “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” You will never have to rely only on your own strength or resources to do God's Will, let His grace work through you. You will never be too weak because you have Christ, our saviour, living within you (Galatians 2:20) Nothing is too hard for YOUR God, which means nothing he has called you to do today will be too hard for you. What do you need God's help with today? 3 "I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." 4 " You pushed me violently, that I might fall, But the LORD helped me." (Psalms 118:13-18) Though you may fall, you will not be utterly cast down; For the Lord will uphold you with His hand (Psalms 37:24). God's hand is always there to lift you back up and save you (Psalm 108:6). When you fall down and feel like you can't get up, when you feel like you can't do another day, God will uphold you with his Righteous right hand (Psalm 37:23-24). You are not walking this life in your own strength. God, Creator of this world is holding your hand. God's righteous hand executes justice and judgement (Isaiah 50:11). He promises to protect you in your hardest and darkest moments (Psalm 23:4). God's presence is always with us through the Holy Spirit guiding us in truth (John 16:13). We make mistakes because we all fall short of the glory of God but it's okay, rely on the never-changing one Jesus to help you (Romans 3:23). "For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you." (Isaiah 41:13). 'The voice of rejoicing and salvation Is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the Lord does valiantly. The right hand of the Lord is exalted; The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.' - Psalms 118:15-16 (Isaiah 41:11-13) Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them— Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing. 'For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’' Matthew 28:20: “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Through Faith in Jesus Christ, we receive God's Spirit, Our Helper (John 14:25-26): Luke 24:49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” ' John 14:16-20 'And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. ' Jesus removed the veil: separation between God and Humans because of sin (II Corinthians 3:14) so we can pray to God anytime and anywhere. David writes in Psalms 139:7-12 "Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast." Prophet Jonah attempted to run away from God's plan but could not escape (Jonah 1:3). Remind yourself of God's promises and eternal presence. Allow God to speak to you through His Holy Spirit granted by Jesus & His Word. Moments of Isolation can be an invitation to talk with God just like Jesus did (Luke 5:16). Emmanuel; God be with you in Jesus' name, amen. The Holy Spirit: Your Companion Isaiah 41:9 'You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away:' NOT ALONE IN YOUR SUFFERING Looked Over/Left Out/Less Than Isaiah 49:14-15: 'But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.” “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.' In God's Word, we see examples of several people who suffered and were also not perfect in their walk of faith (Romans 15:4-5 , 1 Peter 5:9). You may be able to identify with Joseph’s abandonment, Moses’ insecurity, David’s anxiety, Elijah’s depression, or Jonah’s anger. Everyone recorded in the Bible experienced a form of vulnerability to sin we can relate to. Each person struggled yet God helped them, they sinned yet God still used them. All grew stronger in faith as a result of suffering. As we read the testimonies of God’s people recorded in the Bible, we are able understand that we are not alone and can learn from God's power in their testimonies. God relates to you in your suffering. Christ was “made in every respect like us” (Hebrews 2:17) and faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin (Hebrews 4:15). Because of this, Jesus is uniquely qualified to be our “merciful and faithful High Priest” (Hebrews 2:17), able to empathise fully with every aspect of the human condition. Whether we feel physical pain, endure rejections and abandonment, or feel weary or sad; Christ has felt it too. No matter what our circumstance, the Lord is able to connect with our experience. Because Christ has stood in our shoes, we can keep our eyes fixed on him, as “the champion who initiates and perfects our faith” (Hebrews 12:2). We grow closer to Christ by “Sharing in his death” through our suffering, and enjoying His unconditional mercies and grace every day along the way, (Philippians 3:10-11). W e are never alone. Jesus is our faithful and merciful companion on the journey. As God promised, He will always be with you (Matthew 28:20). WE ARE NEVER ALONE ! PRAISE BE TO JESUS CHRIST

  • Healing Trauma | Healingforyou

God teaches us how to heal from our trauma responses, how to appeal to Him and forgive others as we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Healing Trauma Trauma is when an event hurts you and develops into unhelpful knowledge based on hurt instead of God's Truth. It can interfere with our daily living and perspective on God's Truth & promises to us. Ephesians 6:12 'For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.' Whose report will you believe? God's Report is truth. Are you basing your actions / thoughts on God's report or own understanding of a situation? We are encouraged to bring our thoughts obedient to Christ because our own understanding based on the past is not always based truth (2 Corinthians 10:5). When we base our decisions and actions on our own understanding, we rely on trauma to dictate our behaviours; like a builder who builds the foundation of his house on sand (Matthew 7:26-27). When the storms come his foundation is shaken whereas the foundation of Christ, our Rock (Psalm 18:2, Isaiah 44:8,) does not shake . ' The things that come out of our mouths show our own heart (Matthew 15:18, Luke 6:45). When we aren't connected to the true vine: Jesus, we are unable to bear His fruits of love, peace, kindness properly (John 15:1-8). So do not go against anyone as a person and do not get revenge, leave justice to God. Pray for them to be connected to Jesus so they can be delivered from their hurt. We are all creations of God, God wants us to treat all like so. Matthew 5:1-12 How to Heal from Trauma: Injustice Trauma Stay close to God 1 Through your trails and tribulations, God does not slumber, and He will not let your foot slip (Psalms 121:3-4). Our God is an ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1) and keeps His covenant of mercy throughout generations (Deuteronomy 7:9). God has knowledge and experience of the injustices we go through. Jesus was mistreated, beaten, mocked and killed based on false accusations; Yet God had a good plan for it all along before it even happened - before Jesus was conceived (Psalm 110:1, Isaiah 7:14). Jesus knew what was to come and surrendered to God's will (Luke 22:42), He voluntarily gave His life for us (John 10:17-18). Jesus conquered death and hades (Revelation 1:18), and is exalted on the right hand of God (Psalm 110:1, Philippians 2:9-11). God is just (2 Thessalonians 1:6-8), and we are created in His image (Genesis 1:27). Therefore, we are created to feel for justice (Ephesians 2:10). That is why injustice can make us mad. God feels anger towards injustice too, righteously (Psalm 7:11-13). It can be hard to tell authority figures what has happened to you. It is hard to take things to court emotionally, spiritually and physically. We see in our world, perpetrators "getting away" with "no consequence" but nobody can escape the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Have you seen injustice in your life or family? Are you a victim of sexual, physical or emotional abuse? I am so sorry you went through that pain. Your testament of pain and heartbreak does not stay as that, your experience can help someone suffering the same exact thing as you (1 Corinthians 9:22) Psalms 11:7 “For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice; the upright will see His face.” Only God can bring true justice: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (Galatians 6:7). Abusers may not be brought to justice "now", but we all have to face God for the things spoken and done (2 Corinthians 5:10). Just like we see in the Tower of Babel, God does not allow evil to prosper (Ecclesiastes 8:13,Psalm 37:1-25) With God, justice prevails throughout history, and we as the victims have an advocate and judge who will make everything right (Romans 8:28). Allow God to be your defender :) Appeal to God 2 Vindicate me, O God, And plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man! - Psalm 43:1 Have you been falsely accused or robbed of justice? 1 Peter 4:12-15 "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler." Ask God to vindicate you (Psalms 35). King David faced the dangers of the wilderness and kingship as his life was constantly threatened, through these experiences of injustice, He kept appealing to God. God is capable of doing the things we think are impossible (Matthew 19:26). You might be in court for a legal matter, God is there for you. He can speak to judges and kings because He is the Lord of all, cry to him and let God do the rest (Exodus 14:14). Leave Revenge to God 3 'Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. ' - Romans 12:19 Revenge is one of the most common reactions we have to injustice. We see it in almost every movie -even superhero movies made for children! 1 Peter 3:9-18 'Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing , because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer , but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats ; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.' Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. ' Have you ever wanted revenge? Peter, a disciple chosen by God, felt the same when Jesus was arrested (John 18:10-11). Whether you have been victimised by gossip, adultery or an immoral workplace, a lot of us think about getting back at people but hurting them does not solve anything, it spreads the pain and feeds anger. When someone sins against you, they sin against Christ (1 Corinthians 8:12). God will defend you. He is bigger than any injustice; and makes all things right. Feelings of helplessness and/or hopelessness Unpredictable/impulsive emotions and reactions Lack of trust in others including authority figures Betrayal Trauma Trouble recognising or expressing emotions Struggle Trusting God/Love (1 Corinthians 13:4–8) Unforgiveness/hateful thoughts God is love and love always trusts (1 John 4:8, 1 Corinthians 13:7). It is hard to trust when it has been broken, but there is someone who will never break your trust: Jesus, who is the same, yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus is the true vine (John 15:1-8). When we connect to him, we can bear the fruits of God's Spirit: Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). God will not forsake anyone when we make mistakes or fail to show the fruits of His spirit because He knows we all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). God is willing while we are still His "enemies" to give us Jesus to hold our hands through it all (Romans 5:10): Jesus came to heal the blind (spiritually blind: ignorant of what we are doing/sin), sick (spiritually sick: depressed/oppressed + vulnerable to impulsive actions from the evil one), mute (spiritually mute: unable to speak /oppressed). We learn how to love thy God first with all our heart and soul, and He helps us trust others. God is our rock, unshakeable fortress and refuge in times of trouble (Psalm 18:2). He will help you withstand the betrayal you have faced. Remember, this is not a battle against flesh and blood but evil (Ephesians 6:12). Whatever hurt happened to you, God will turn out for good and restore your soul (Psalm 23:3). Forgiveness is not easy. Not one person recorded in the Bible found it easy, nor were they perfect. King David faced betrayal amongst his friends and his own son. Psalm 55:20-22 'He has put forth his hands against those who were at peace with him; He has broken his covenant. The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, But war was in his heart; His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords. Cast your burden on the Lord , And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.' God encourages us to always be merciful and forgive (Matthew 18:21-35). How? When we learn more about the forgiveness of our sins in Jesus, we are able to forgive others (Ephesians 4:32). Jesus experienced betrayal with His disciples, Peter and Judas, yet washed their feet (John 13:1-20, Matthew 26:69-75, Matthew 26:21-25). When we come close to God, we are able to let go of our perspective and our own understanding of situations/people to see God's love and glory in everything. You can forgive someone and not have a relationship with them, always be led by the Holy Spirit. God encourages us to sow generously, and then we will also reap generously (2 Corinthians 9:6). Let The God of Justice work it out (Romans 12:19-21, Deuteronomy 32:4). We are all human in this battle together and we all fall short of the Glory of God. Pray for them to find Jesus so they can repent and be delivered / healed (Matthew 5:44). Matthew 5:43-48 You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.' Connect to the True Vine 1 Practice Forgiveness 2 Make a plan with God 3 God's promises shine in testimonies where people felt abandoned such as Hagar and Joseph. In testimonies like Paul, former persecutor of the church, God reassures us that He will never abandon us no matter what our situation looks like. God encourages us to pray about everything, He wants to talk with us and help us like a Father helps His child (Philippians 4:6-7). By praying, we allow God to help us in our free will. God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty (I Corinthians 1:27). God's grace is sufficient in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Learning about God's character helps us understand His endless mercies, love, and compassion towards us and generations (Psalm 100:5). You are never truely abandoned. Start by building on your relationship with God first, He will show you His ever-present help available at all times. God is known as El Roi (The God who sees), Jehovah Rapha (Our God who heals), Immanuel (God with us), Jehovah Jireh (Our provider) and much more! The world and our own parents may forsake us, but God promises never to forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6-8, Psalm 27:10). God did not leave us here as orphans to defend for ourselves, Jesus promises to be here to help us (John 14:18). God loves you so much He sent Jesus to be your friend close to you at all times (John 3:16, Galatians 2:20). God calls us a friend (John 15:15). No greater friend is one who lays down his life for us, Jesus (John 15:13). God offers us safety in Jesus and wearing the armour of God, we are able to withstand anything (Ephesians 6:10-18). We don't need kings or men or princes, just God to withstand all that comes in our life (Psalm 60:11, John 14:26 , Hebrews 8:11). However, God blesses us with people to share fellowship with and love for God, to experience God's love and kindness, God allows these moments to come in the right timing, when you are ready. Spend time with God 2 God's promise of safety 3 God encourages us to 'cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret— it only causes harm' (Psalms 37:8). God will heal your heart and wounds (Psalm 147:3). The Holy Spirit will guide you and help you in truth (John 16:13). Even though you stumble, you will not fall, God will hold you (Psalm 37:24). God continues to say keep trying, walk in love (Ephesians 5:2), and do not be weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. I John 3:1-2 'Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. ' How can you take steps to forgive and move on from someone who betrayed you? How can you leave justice up to God? The Parable of the lost son is an example of God's forgiveness towards us after we betray Him (Luke 15:11-32). Betrayal helps us understand what God goes through on a daily basis with His own creation. Rejection Trauma Negative assumptions about others Inability or unwillingness to connect with others The need to control/change things only God can. Unhealthy people pleasing tendencies Rejection = Protection 1 Abandonment Trauma Fear of being left behind or abandoned Inability to form healthy relationships Low self-esteem and self-worth Anxious or avoidant attachment tendencies Start with God 1 When we feel rejected by people, it is easy to say that God has rejected us too or abandoned us, but this is not true. God promises to never hold his anger against us forever (Psalm 103:9) . No door that God opens for you can be shut (Revelation 3:7-8). God is reject throughout generations but do not worry , the last will be first in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 20:16).There is a time for everything and God made everything good for its time (Ecclesiastes 3:1-11). Keep your mind on things above not here where moth and vermin destroy. Let yourself feel the pain of rejection, lament to God. Yes it hurts, but remember God will have something better for you because He has plans to prosper you not harm you (Jeremiah 29:11). Jesus gives us a good example in the garden of Gethsemane when he says "Never-less let your will be done" (Matthew 26:36-46)., it can be hard to surrender our lives like Jesus, especially when we struggle to trust God with the hurt you have faced. But that's okay, God is ready to meet you where you are and guide you. His Will for you is GOOD, and you can put your trust in that (Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28). God, your creator, defines you not what happens to you or someone's opinion. God's Word about you is the Truth (john 17:17). Anything else is a lie. If someone does not like you, or you did not receive a job, it does not mean there is something wrong with you. Remember, God makes everything good in its time and your time is coming (Ecclesiastes 3:11)! God does not look at our outward appearance but at our hearts (1 Samuel 16:7). God's love for you is not defined on what you can do, we are saved by grace not works (Ephesians 2:8-10). God's love for you will never change and nothing can seperate you from it (Romans 8:38-39). Surrender it to God 2 Rejection Does NOT Define you 3 Luke 17:25 (NKJV) But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

  • I Am Hurt | Healingforyou

Do you feel unsettled, overwhelmed, uncomfortable or angry? Bring these emotions to God's throne of grace, who sympathises with you in your weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15-16). Psalm 147:3 Have you experienced a moment when a place, experience or interaction made an unwanted memory surface and suddenly you feel unsettled, overwhelmed, uncomfortable or angry? This is called a Trigger. When we experience a trigger, our body goes into survival mode; Your body may tense or your heart may race. Triggers come from something that touches a vulnerable part of ourselves such as old wounds, unresolved pain, or unmet needs. We can bring these moments to God's throne of grace, who sympa thises with us in our weaknesses ( Hebrews 4:15-16) and works strongest in them (2 Corinthians 12:9). As we come to God we learn about who He is: The God who sees (El Roi) and The God who heals us (Jehovah rapha). Hebrews 4:15-16 'For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.' Our Triggers reflect our Pain. Triggers The fear of someone leaving Most feedback feels like criticism Raised voice/tones/look on faces Authority/being told what to do Not feeling worthy or good enough Worrying someone is upset at you Spending money on yourself Feeling dismissed or invalidated Feeling like you are a burden Loud noises/sensory overwhelm Feeling unimportant to loved ones Trauma Responses Abandonment/rejection Critical/disapproving authority figure Unpredictable scary authority figure Controlled/could not have a voice Had to 'perform' to earn love Harsh/punitive caregiver Poverty/raised in scarce mindset Not allowed to show emotions Your needs were ignored or shamed Chaotic environments Unavailable/self-focused authority figure HELPFUL VERSES Psalm 46:1 Psalms 28:7-8 Psalm 34:18: Proverbs 3:23 Joshua 1:9 Isaiah 41:10 Isaiah 43:1-3 Isaiah 54:17 Matthew 5:1-12 2 Thessalonians 3:2-4 Revelation 21:4 Romans 8:26-28 Invite God into your heart and give him your hurt and trauma. Talk to Him about everything you are going through. El Roi sees your pain (Genesis 16:13). God is eager to show mercy , patient and willing to help you overcome your hurt in Christ Jesus. God will heal your heart and create a new spirit within you (Psalm 51:10-12) HOW DO YOU GIVE YOUR HURT TO GOD? 01. DON'T FIGHT YOUR HURT Allow yourself to feel and seek God's Truth and Hope about your situation in His Word. Don't be afraid to ask for guidance from His Holy Spirit. God's promises INCLUDE you. Jesus will carry your burdens (Psalm 55:22), so keep your eyes on Him, not the storm. God is always listening (psalm 65:2). He records our every tear (Psalms 56:8). He is Your Rock, stronger than any circumstances or emotions (Psalms 18:1-3, Psalm 61:2). In moments of overwhelm, it is okay to rest in God (Matthew 11:28-30). Let go of the need to fix everything and trust that God’s peace will meet you right where you are. 02. PAUSE WITH GOD BEFORE YOU REACT Take a moment to breathe and allow your emotions to settle with God before you make a decision or react. It is important to act on Faith in God's Word , The Truth and not our feelings because our feelings are always changing and can be based on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10). God offers wisdom, clarity, and the peace freely, and will guide us to quiet waters and safe pastures when we trust in Him (Psalm 23:2–6). 03. PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD'S LOVE FOR YOU IN JESUS God is Love (1 John 4:16). Defined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: Long-suffering Kind Does not envy Does not parade itself Is Not puffed up Does not behave rudely God shows all these qualities towards you. Why? Not because of your works but because of who God is. God is merciful and patient towards ALL of us (Ephesians 2:8-9, Lamentations 3:22, 2 Peter 3:9). For God so LOVED THE WORLD, He gave His Son NOT to condemn the world but SAVE it (John 3:16-17) You cannot earn or lose God's Love, He already loves you in Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). Jesus Christ is the same yesterday , today and forever so you can trust in His love for you (Hebrews 13:8) Does not seek its own, Is not provoked, Thinks no evil Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, & endures all things. Psalm 91:4 His Truth will be your shield and buckler 1. God is always in control. ' Jesus has victory! Far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.'- Ephesians 1:21-23 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. - Revelation 1:18 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name - Philippians 2:5-9 God's Word will always be accomplished and His Word over your life is to turn everything intended for evil over you for your good (Genesis 50:19-22, Isaiah 55:11). The days were fashioned for you (Psalms 139:16) Genesis 50:19-22 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. So Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he and his father’s household. And Joseph lived one hundred and ten years. Proverbs 8:29 When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul talks about suffering : 2 Corinthians 12:7: 'And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.' Here, Paul understood that a messenger of Satan was "given to" him by God to ensure he did not exalt himself through the abundance of God's revelations. 'Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. '- II Corinthians 12:8-9 What does this mean? - God hears our pleas and cries, He will always respond and be there to comfort you. God reassures Paul that God's Grace and strength shines through perfectly in our weakest moments. God's Word is full of God's endless mercies and grace towards us when we fall short, God knows we cannot perfectly do the law so He sent us Jesus. We are weak in the Law but strong in the one who fulfilled the law for us (Matthew 5:17). The disciples felt weak often (Mark 4:35-41), Moses had moments of "weakness" (Exodus 3:11-12), Elijah (1 Kings 19:4–5) and Job (Job 3:1-26), yet they all serve bigger purposes in helping us understand how God's grace is ALWAYS for us (Romans 8:31-39) 2 C orinthians 13:4 "For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you." 2. Satan is not in charge. Satan has no authority over anything and is unable to do anything without God’s sovereign disposition. God does not listen to "Satan" or "Curses" (Deuteronomy 23:5), He promises to never bring trouble or grief willinglingly to the children of men (Lamentations 3:33). Paul affirms that, as hurtful and discouraging his problem was, the “messenger of Satan” was given for a greater purpose— one that would result in the maturing of his own humility and faith, resulting in God’s greater glory and honor: 'And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea which were in Christ. But they were hearing only, “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy.” And they glorified God in me.' - Galatians 1:22-24 Romans 5:3-5 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Read Mark 5:1-20 'Then He asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country. Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains. So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.” And at once Jesus gave them permission . Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.'- Mark 5:9-13 We learn here that Demons need permission from God before they can do anything. 3. God uses our "problems" to achieve His higher good purpose for us. God has thoughts of peace and not evil towards all He creates. When "Bad" things happen, we can trust God works all things our for your Good (Romans 8:28). It is okay to ask God, "Why?" (James 1:5). We have lack of understanding compared to Him, after-all, HE is GOD. God's thoughts are higher than ours, His ways higher than ours, so only God knows the end (Isaiah 55:8-9). Only our sovereign God knows everything: The birth of every deer, the seasons etc. (Job 38) Thanks be to our God who shares his wisdom with those who ask in Jesus' name. May our hearts and eyes be open to receiving the hope and good news of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Saviour in all our storms and troubles in Jesus' name, amen. Remember, suffering is never punishment - Christ took ALL the punishment for our sin on the cross so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor. 5:21). We suffer in Christ to be glorified with Him: Life was not fair to Jesus, Son of God, the sinless man, who died for the world's sin. We will have tribulation but be of good cheer cause Christ as overcome (John 16:33)! Christ died for you and now lives in you (Galatians 2:20). The Thief came to steal , kill and destroy; But Jesus has come to give us all life abundantly" (John 10:10). Suffering helps chastise us like an olive tree that is beaten. The tree is beaten severely for its fruit to come out. Rain comes before the flowers bloom. Our troubles can "beat us" but through the suffering, there is opportunity for us to show the fruit's of God's spirit just as Jesus did when he was crucified. God chastises and rebukes with love (Revelation 3:19). Although it may feel like we are being beaten, God's Grace will not allow us to be harmed by the wolf like the Good shepherd who tends for his sheep (Revelation 3:19, John 10:11-16). God is love, therefore all that He does IS LOVE no matter how we see it through our lens. It is okay to be hurt over things that happen to us; They enable us to connect to God's feelings and share in Christ’s holiness by being sanctified (2 Corinthians 3:18 ) and ultimately be able to yeild the fruits of The Holy Spirit (John 15:1-5, Hebrews. 12:3–11). In our suffering, we can learn to rely on our rock, Christ Jesus, who was rejected by the world yet became the Chief cornerstone (Psalm 118:22, Ephesians 2:20-22, Acts 4:11). Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit he gives us, we can learn about who God really is and see His true grace and mercy for all of us throughout generations. Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing (James 1:3–4) Romans 12:12 NKJV Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer Heavenly Father, thank you for helping me understand that my thoughts are not your thoughts and neither are your ways my ways. Please take my understanding on this situation that hurt me and help me see your bigger, better plan for me and everyone involved. It is hard to be in this pain but I declare that as Your Truth says, You are in control and your plan is better than anything I can come up with. Thank you for everything you have done for me. Thank you for comforting me and delivering me in your Perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • The Good Shepherd | Healingforyou

Jesus is the Good Shepherd who leads His sheep to safe pastures and quiet waters (Psalm 23:1-4). If you feel lost, God is here to guide you. The Good Shepherd John 10:18-121 "Do Not Fear Little Flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." - Luke 12:32 Psalm 100:3 "Know that the Lord, He is God. It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves. . We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. " THE HOPE WE HOLD ONTO: Revelation 7:17 'for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”' Ezekiel 34:11-31 God the True Shepherd: ‘For thus says the Lord God: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them in good pasture, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel. There they shall lie down in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down,” says the Lord God. “I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment.” ‘And as for you, O My flock, thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I shall judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats. Is it too little for you to have eaten up the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture—and to have drunk of the clear waters, that you must foul the residue with your feet? And as for My flock, they eat what you have trampled with your feet, and they drink what you have fouled with your feet.” ‘Therefore thus says the Lord God to them: “Behold, I Myself will judge between the fat and the lean sheep. Because you have pushed with side and shoulder, butted all the weak ones with your horns, and scattered them abroad, therefore I will save My flock, and they shall no longer be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep. I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them—My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd. And I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant David a prince among them; I, the Lord, have spoken. “I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing. Then the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase. They shall be safe in their land; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have broken the bands of their yoke and delivered them from the hand of those who enslaved them. And they shall no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall beasts of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid. I will raise up for them a garden of renown, and they shall no longer be consumed with hunger in the land, nor bear the shame of the Gentiles anymore. Thus they shall know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, and they, the house of Israel, are My people,” says the Lord God.’ “You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord God. 'For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.' - I Peter 2:25 | Psalm 119: 176 When a sheep has gone astray, it leaves the life and protection that it relies on the Shepherd to give: Food, Water + Shelter. Being separated from God is like being a sheep without a shepherd. God promises to take care of us : Psalm 27:10. A Good Shepherd will seek out its lost sheep (Ezekiel 34:12) and r escue it just like the Son of Man came to Seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10) Ezekiel 34:12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day. When Jesus saw the crowds, He had compassion on them because they were harrassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd (Matthew 9:36) Matthew 12:11-12: 'Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep?...' Matthew 10:5-8 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. The Parable of the Lost Sheep Luke 15:1-7 'Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” So He spoke this parable to them, saying: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.' John 10:14-16 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me." Without a shepherd, sheeps are completely helpless against their enemies. In Israel, the #1 enemy of sheeps is wolves. Wolves fear the presence of a shepherd, just like the evil one is terrified of Jesus (James 2:19). Jesus protects us from evil like the shepherd protects its sheep: John 10:7-9 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture The Sheep Pen represents Eternal life / Protection in God: A Sheep Pen in Israel is made up of stone walls that come together and form a narrow opening. Before night comes, the shepherd gets his flock into this protection, and then serves as the gate to the sheep pen by sitting or laying in the narrow gate so nothing can get in or out except through The Shepherd. Sheep are most vulnerable in the darkness, so before sunset the shepherd gets his sheep into the sheep pen . The pen protects the sheep from danger during night.

God is the One who made the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to cross over. ANXIETY Intense / excessive feelings of worry and fear Psalms 94:16-19 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Isaiah 51:10 | Isaiah 55:11 | Proverbs 8:29 | Psalms 33:9 Intimidation can be a reason we lose hope. Our situation may feel TOO BIG OR TOO CHALLENGING, especially when it happens for a long period of time, but keep your faith in God who is capable of acting in big, miraculous ways for you just like He did with Jesus. What are some intimidating things that you are struggling with? How can you place them in God's hands today? Invite the Holy Spirit to help you have faith in Christ during your battles in day to day life. Thank you Lord for being with us in our storms and battles, our fears and worries. We invite the Holy Spirit to help us have faith in Jesus during these times. May God break down our walls of own understanding based on rejection, abandonment and trauma and replace it with God's good knowledge of the world. This world can look scary but we declare our Faith in God's goodness and grace. Thank you Jesus for shining your countenance upon those struggling with anxiety and depression. May we not focus on the fearful things we see and hear in this world but God's grace and glory through everything. Thank you God for protecting us from evil in Jesus' name, amen. God protects His people: Rahab and the spies (Joshua 2) Two spies are sent to check the city of Jericho. When they are close to being captured, Rahab (A resident of Jericho) helps them and hides them. She had hope that God would protect her and her family as she protected God's people: The spies. God saves her family for her Faith (Hebrews 11:31, Joshua 6:23). The Israelites had to cross through Jericho to get to the promised land. It was a massive city with a large fortified wall and strong fighting army. Yet, God instructed the Israelites to sing praises unto Him to break down the walls of Jericho. From a flesh and blood perspective, this seemed like an impossible way to fight a battle. Despite their circumstances, the Israelites obeyed God's command, dying to their own understanding of fighting their battles. They exalted the Lord over their earthly understanding, fears and worries. And God provided, He broke down the walls, and prevented Jericho from harming His people. God will protect you from the flaming arrows too. Put on His armour before you fight your battle (Ephesians 6:10-18) and surrender to what God wants you to do (Joshua 1:16-17). If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31). God will keep you safe ( Psalm 121:7-8, Psalm 4:8). Is your battle an upcoming test or interview? Surrender your battle to God as the Israelites did and let Him guide you. God fights for us (Exodus 14:14). God dwells in the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). When you are feeling anxious, fearful, worried, overwhelmed, turn to God's music and sing praises unto Him. By doing this, you can focus on Jesus in your storm and invite God's presence of light where darkness cannot dwell (John 1:5). God's promises to be with you and protect you Joshua 1:3-9 Joshua 1:5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous, Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go Psalm 121:7-8 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. • SELF CARE | Healingforyou

Self-care is not a means to "increase" your beauty because you are already wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14)! It is taking care of Your Body: The SACRED Temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 3:16-17) GODLY WORLDLY SELF-CARE Self-care should not be used as a means to "increase" your beauty because you are already wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14)! Self-care is taking care of Your Body: The SACRED Temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:9, 3:16-17, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). In the princess movie "Cinderella", the Fairy Godmother makes cinderella “beautiful” by putting her in a pretty dress , doing her makeup and her hair. The Truth is: Jesus came down from heaven to tell us that we are already wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14). We don't need make-up, creams or perfumes to "look/smell better." The power of the Holy Spirit and Jesus works beyond physical products and substances. Jesus healed and worked miracles without medicine! Jesus Himself is our cure, our healer, and our doctor. Let your supplications be known to Him. Remember, any statement that does not come from God's Truth about you is a lie. Do not listen to lies about your identity e.g. you are ugly, or not good enough; Trust God's never-changing, absolute TRUTH about you. Reflection: Do you believe that it is possible for God to change you the way that He changed Moses? Pray to God and invite Him to show you what you mean to Him. You are beautiful Romans 3:23-24 | Psalm 23:3 | Psalm 49:8-9 We ALL Fall Short of The Glory of God But your soul is costly & redeemed by Jesus God is love (1 John 4:8). He loves you wherever you are in your journey. Nothing you do will make him love you less or more, we are not saved by our works but God's grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). God doesn't expect you to be perfect and holy, that is why He sent us Jesus. Jesus died for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). Jesus helps us become worthy to come to God (II Thessalonians 1:4-6, II Thessalonians 1:11-12). Through His sacrifice, the Lord Jesus shows the high value and worth we are to him. Your life is worth Jesus who is loved dearly to God (John 15:9). So, despite your past, your sins, your pains and your feelings of worthlessness, God invites your to draw near and in return He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Your soul is costly redeemed by Jesus (Psalm 23:3, Psalm 49:8-9). In Matthew 11:28–30, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” He invites us to come to Him regardless of the state we're in. Our relationship with the Lord is incomparable to any relationship on earth. There is absolutely no expectation of perfection. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Apostle Paul affirms how the Lord told him, ”My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." We will never be able to achieve perfection; yet in our sinful state, God still says “come to Me.” We don’t have to put on our best or cover up parts of our life we aren’t satisfied with. God is for you. "I Am Not Good Enough" - Moses (Exodus 4) God chose Moses to free His people, the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Moses was filled with fears that he would be unsuccessful/incapable to complete the task. We learn from God's interaction with him that God will equip us with the strength and resources to do all that He has purposed us to do e.g. God gave Moses a staff to prove He spoke with God if the Israelites did not believe Moses (Exodus 4:1-5). • “Moses said to God, ‘Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?’” (Exodus 3:11) • “Then Moses said, ‘What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say? For they may say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you’” (Exodus 4:1). Moses says to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” (Exodus 4:10) God reminded Moses of His control over everything: “Who gave human beings their mouths? ... Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say” (Exodus 4:11-12). Focus on God's power instead of your shortcomings. Your competence comes from God: "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills but the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:5-6). God's grace is sufficient in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). "If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen" (I Peter 4:11). Trust God, Not Self: God didn’t spend time trying to boost Moses’ self-confidence. Rather, God reminded Moses that he should put his confidence in Him. God wants us to put all of our trust in Him. After all, God is the only one who is powerful enough to overcome the Pharaoh in our lives. As Moses grew in his trust in the Lord, God used him to accomplish a great deliverance. Moses is now known as one of the greatest leaders in biblical history not because he was such a brave guy but because of his faith in God’s great power of redemption. What God did for Moses, He can do for you. You can rest in the knowledge that if God is calling you to do something, His grace will be effective in your life too! You are not "an accident" or "a mistake." God created you with intention and purpose. INSECURE FEELING PSALM 139:11-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:17-19 If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. Genesis 1:27 You are made in God's Image and likeness! We are made for Gods glory 'Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”'- Isaiah 43:7 Your qualities reflect God's character to bring Glory and praise to Him (Isaiah 43:21, Isaiah 43:21). Take a moment to consider how God uniquely designed you. What qualities, gifts, talents, or experiences do you have that reflect God? I Corinthians 15:39 'All flesh is not the same flesh , but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.' '“Remember these, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me!' - Isaiah 44:21 What does fearfully and wonderfully mean? Genesis 1:2-4: Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. The God who comprehensively designed our world in the beginning of time created you in your mother's womb (Revelation 4:11, Psalms 146:5-10). "I was woven together in the depths of the earth" (Psalm 139:14-15) God spoke creation into the world (Genesis 1), but for you, God did not just speak you into existence, He sculpted you. God declares everything He created is good, this includes you! (Genesis 1:31). Remember, you are a light (Matthew 5:14). No man can define you because only God truely knows you before you were even born (Jeremiah 1:5). When you take time to explore the details of our world today such as the ecosystems, nature and animals; we can see how every bit of it is beautiful and works together wonderfully. Take note of the different shapes, sizes and textures you see in your favourite animals. No animal, even from the same species is created the same. You are God's masterpiece and gift to Jesus: Ephesians 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." John 17:6-10 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. Isaiah 46:3-4 Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob, all the remnant of the people of Israel, you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Ask Yourself... * How has culture/expectations shaped how you view yourself? * What does God's Truth say about these strongholds built on lies? * How can you fully embrace your body as a vessel for the Holy Spirit rather than a project to be improved? When the Enemy Attacks Who You Are: 1. Come to God's Word (The Sword of the Spirit): What hurtful words have been spoken over you? Bring these statements before the Word of God. Reflect and ask yourself: Is there anywhere in God’s Word where it is written that this statement is true about me? Ask the Lord to reveal who you are to Him: You are loved in Christ Jesus (John 17:26). Therefore make every thought and every word obedient to Christ with full submission to God's Truth. 2. Pray in Jesus' Name: Through Jesus, we attain righteousness in God (Breastplate of righteousness). “In the strong name of Jesus, whose I belong, who lives in me, and who is helping me become like Him, I break the curse of these words and its impact on me. I surrender them at your cross and choose to forgive as you have forgiven me in Jesus' name, amen." 3. Focus on the Grace of God in Jesus: God suffered much for us in the flesh of Jesus. He took on the punishment for all of our sins. Whatever has been used against you; will be used for your good (Genesis 50:20). Put up your shield of faith in Jesus' love for you and keep your mind on the salvation of Christ (Helmet of Salvation). Choose to come to Jesus and ask Him to help you walk in peace (Shoes of peace). Bedtime Routine It can be hard to sleep/rest. Try use this time as an opportunity to talk with God. Psalms 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety. Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Morning Routine Invite God to talk to you in the morning. His voice bring will bring you peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). God is your Heavenly Father who loves you. Our God of Peace invites us into His peace (John 14:27) Bible Devotionals, God's Word + Worship music can uplift your mornings with God. ONLY GOD YOUR CREATOR DEFINES YOU YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY: Who your parents were & say you are People's opinion about you Relationships where you were not your best self Mistakes you have made in the past Your trauma, fears & anxieties GOD SAYS.. You are Loved (Romans 8:38-39, John 3:16-17) You are chosen, God's special possession (1 Peter 2:9, Ephesians 1:11) You are Worthy to be Alive ( Psalm 139:16, Psalm 139:13) Wonderfully and Fearfully made (Psalm 139:14) You are more than a conqueror in Christ (Romans 8:37) You are the Holy Spirit's Temple (1 Corinthians 6:19)

  • JOURNAL | Healingforyou

Journal with THE LORD about your worries. When you call on Him and pray, He will listen to you" (Jeremiah 29:12-13). JOURNAL WITH THE LORD "Then you will call on Me and pray to Me, and I will listen to you." (Jeremiah 29:12-13) WORRYING Luke 12:22-34 Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith? And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. ASK YOURSELF... ACTIVITY: Set a time to write down all your worries in a jar & talk to God about them. 01. IS THIS THOUGHT BASED ON GOD'S TRUTH? 02. DOES THIS THOUGHT BRING ME PEACE? 03. IS THIS THOUGHT FROM GOD? (JEREMIAH 29:11) It's Okay, many of us struggle with Faith (1 Peter 5:9). The disciples struggled as well; understanding a lot of Jesus' parables after the resurrection. Faith is a spiritual gift by God (Ephesians 2:8–9). So Ask God! Our God gives generously to those who ask him (Luke 11:11-13, James 1:5). Is what you are thinking about: Just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy? God encourages us to meditate on these (Philippians 4:8-9) 2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Philippians 4:6-7 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.' JOURNAL PROMPTS Our Trauma represents itself as triggers & impulsive emotional reactions under memorable circumstances. Handling Grief PDF >> TIPS TO HELP YOU STOP OVERTHINKING AWARENESS Take ALL your thoughts captive & make them obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Most problems are imagined events in our head. What are you overthinking about? EXTERNALISE THOUGHTS God has everything in control, and tells us not to worry (Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 6:34). Let it go (try out the worry jar activity). Write it down and give it all to God in prayer. GET TO THE ROOT: FEAR The root of overthinking is fear of losing control/what if's, ideas not from God (2 Timothy 1:7). Learn to accept that you cannot control everything in life, and give it to the one in control, God (Deuteronomy 31:8). He will do everything for your good (Romans 8:28, Jeremiah 29:11). Ask yourself, "What do I really fear behind this situation...?" Do you fear not being loved, heard or seen? accepted? What limiting beliefs, triggers, or inner wounding is coming up that needs to be addressed?

  • Rest in God | Healingforyou

Do the "I have to's" keep you awake? Jesus Gives True Rest. He says "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls' (Matthew 11:28-29). There remains a rest for the People of God (Hebrews 4:9) REST IN GOD. 1 Kings 8:56-58 “Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses. May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us, that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers." Psalm 121:4-8 "Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore." REST IS A GIFT FROM GOD Do the "I have to's" keep you awake We have a lot of responsibilities in our lives and relationships. Expectations from ourselves, our families, mentors and workplaces can get overwhelming. How do we deal with it? Start with Jesus, sit & listen to His Voice: In Luke 10:39-42, Mary sat at Jesus' feet and heard God's word while her sister, Martha was distracted making preparations for what she thought she "had to do." Where did Martha's "have to" come from? Jesus did not arrive with a set of demands. Martha made her list up using her best intentions but Jesus said Mary chose well because she kept her attention toward God's Word. God did not put you on this earth for performance or grades defined by man, but to experience God and His Love for you. You do not have to serve "more" to be accepted or loved by God more, nothing will seperate us from God's love towards us (Romans 8:38-39). Seek first His kingdom and the rest will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). You are saved by grace in Jesus Christ not by your works but because of God's endless mercies and forgiveness for us (Ephesians 2:8). Jesus is the finished work , rest in Him knowing He is your SAVIOUR. LUKE 10:38-42 'Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”' Insomnia Cast all your care upon Him, for he cares for you - 1 peter 5:7 A persistent difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or experiencing poor sleep quality How do you cast your cares to the LORD? God encourages us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Praying before bedtime helps our mind be at ease; Helping us focus on God's power and goodness over our lives. Release your fears and concerns by talking to Him about your sorrows and struggles; God wants to be a Father to you and take care of you in every way (2 Corinthians 6:18, Isaiah 46:4). You do not need to be concerned with business (Ecclesiastes 8:16); God blesses all the works of our hands, offspring and even more through our obedience to Him (Deuteronomy 28). If you are concerned about tomorrow, remember, tomorrow will worry about itself for each day has enough worries of its own (Matthew 6:34). God knows the ultimate reason of why you cannot sleep - It is important to ask Him because God gives wisdom generously to those who ask (James 1:5). We could be concerned with too many fleshly worries or businesses that we aren't giving God, we could be living in flesh/sin instead of spirit so the Holy Spirit in us may be grieved, God may want to talk to you, It is ultimately best to talk to God about it. Science will tell you the works of the flesh such as coffee, drugs, vaping, alcohol etc. disrupts sleep. If we rely on it to get us to sleep, it does. It is important to be sober-minded and able to hear the Holy Spirit's true voice (1 Peter 5:8). Nightmares "For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction. In order to turn man from his deed, And conceal pride from man" (Job 33:14-17). God speaks in all our dreams including the ones we categorise as nightmares. God is the one who sends revelations in the night (Psalm 19:2); and reveals understanding through The Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 2:10-16). For example, God blessed Daniel with understanding in all visions and dreams (Daniel 1:17). When King Nebuchadnezzar was anxious about his dreams, his spirit was troubled and he struggled to fall asleep (Daniel 2:1, 3). The king called sorcerers, astrologers, magicians and Chaldeans to interpret his dreams but they were unable (Daniel 2:2, Daniel 2:10-12). Daniel asked the Lord to reveal the mystery and God showed Daniel the meaning (Daniel 2:19, Daniel 2:27-29). Daniel answered: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him. “I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, And have now made known to me what we asked of You, For You have made known to us the king’s demand.”' - Daniel 2:20-23 Daniel was also grieved in the spirit and troubled by his own dreams (Daniel 7:15) when God revealed revelations of the end times to him throughout Chapter 7 of the book of Daniel. Nowhere in the Holy Bible is it written that the evil one has authority to send nightmares. It is God who reveals the truth and prophetic testimonies: The LORD is in control of everything in the heavens and in the earth (Psalm 103:19, Deuteronomy 10:14), including the things that torment us in our sleep; For God himself creates calamities and prosperities, light and darkness (Isaiah 45:7, I Kings 22:19-23, Job 1:6-12). God doesn't use the evil one to make us suffer, God has plans of peace towards us not evil (Jeremiah 29:11) and He does not bring grief or trouble willingly to men (Lamentations 3:33) But God uses everything for the greater good for those who love him (Romans 8:28): such as discipline, moral enrichment, divine judgement/warnings etc.. So how do we deal with it? Do not be afraid (Isaiah 41:10, Joshua 1:9, and John 14:27), Fear only God and ask the Holy Spirit for understanding. Proverbs 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. Psalm 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Dear Heavenly Father, We pray for the reader struggling with insomnia to experience Your Love and Rest in their heart, mind and spirit. Thank you for easing their concerns, releasing their tensions, and comforting them. May you help them give their fears to you in Jesus' name, amen. 01 What is bothering you ? God wants to hear about it Hebrews 4:14-16 We have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. 02 Do something you enjoy (With Jesus!) Do you enjoy writing? reading? art? Watching movies or documentaries? Keep Jesus at the centre of ALL, He is our hope (Romans 15:13, Isaiah 40:31). Our God is our father who wants to be included in our activities. When we pray, we have a conversation with God and allow our Flesh to understand that God has always been there for us. (Romans 8:31). 03 Finish your day with God Our God of comfort will comfort you more than anything (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.) We are in the times of grace where our God is not here to shame or condemn us but rescue us and help us in Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17). 04 Let God take care of you Our thoughts can be overwhelming especially at night when we are alone. God encourages us to come to Him and make our thoughts obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). What does this mean? It means to fill your mind with the Helmet of Salvation and God's Word (Ephesians 6:17). Remind yourself of what Jesus did for you and His victory over all fear, anxiety and death (Acts 2:24, Corinthians 15:57). 05 Relax, God's got you! By learning who God is ( Love - 1 John 4:8), and reading the examples of His Love in His Word, we draw nearer to His Love and begin to understand His faithfulness, goodness and mercy towards us for generations and during our whole lifetime (James 4:8, 2 Timothy 2:13), amen.
