  • Mornings with God | Healingforyou

Good Morning! This is the day God has made; Let us rejoice in it (Psalm 118:24). God's grace and mercy is available to you today, tomorrow and forever! Good morning! Good morning! Good morning! Good morning! Good Morning! Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1 This is the day God has made; Let us rejoice in it (Psalm 118:24)! Dear Lord, some days it is hard to feel your hope in our lives, some days it is hard to wake up and do another day. Thank you God for your mercies and promises that strengthen us to live another day. We pray for your strength to be within us and The Holy Spirit to comfort us and guide us in Your Truth. Thank you Lord for our daily bread and not leading us into temptation but delivering us from the evil one. Thank you for your forgiveness over our sins for we forgive those who debt against us. Today we thank you for your protection as we put on the armour of God: The Helmet of Salvation, Breastplate of Righteousness, Sword of the Spirit, Shield of Faith in Jesus Christ, the Belt of Truth and Shoes of Readiness/peace. Let your kingdom come, Let your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Yours is the Kingdom, yours is the power and yours is the glory forever and ever in Jesus' name, amen. 01 Invite God into Your Day Start your day by having a conversation with God; Let all your requests and worries out to God (Philippians 4:6, Psalm 5:3). Remember, God wants you to have a sound mind and live in peace, not fear (Jeremiah 29:11, 2 Timothy 1:7, Lamentations 3:33), so trust that he will be holding your hand through everything today (Psalm 139:7-12). 02 Meditate on God's Word (In a way you enjoy!) Spending time with God and His Word will help you trust Him and His voice so He can guide you to green pastures and quiet waters (Psalm 23:1–6). If you are a visual learner, draw or paint verses/bible stories. If you are an audio learner, you can meditate to or listen to an audio bible. 03 Journal Be thankful and express your true feelings to God. God is love and love is patient (1 John 4:16, 1 Corinthians 13:4–8); Be patient with yourself each day, and give each day to Christ. Note down ways God has blessed you and remember to make your thoughts obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). 04 Be Active (When Led by the Holy Spirit) Don't isolate yourself and invalidate your feelings. God says you are a light on a hill. Be the light on the hill today (Matthew 5:14-16). Walk in love as Jesus commands (Ephesians 5:2) and seek first the kingdom of God, the rest will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). 05 Ask "How will I serve God today?" Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). Therefore, we must work as we are serving God and his people, not just for human praise (1 Peter 4:10-11). May God guide your day in his goodness, mercy and love in Jesus' name Amen. " I Can Do ALL Things Through Christ Who Strengthens me" God does not expect you to wake up every morning in your own strength. The Holy Spirit will guide you, comfort you and help you with all you need to do today. Surrender & Pray, God will do the rest. It was God who made the way for the Israelites in the Red Sea not Moses by his own power, it is God who saves and gives strength not our own arm or sword (Isaiah 25:4, Isaiah 40:29). Jesus will sustain you. When you wake up in the morning, don't discern what you can or can't do today based on how strong you feel. God will give you the strength in what God called you to do today. Tomorrow has enough problems of its own (Matthew 6:34). Have you ever felt like.. "I'm trying to get up in the morning" "Trying to Love" "Trying to Pray More" "Trying to read the bible" "Trying to be a nice person" God says, "I see you trying will you trust Me?" "Will you trust God enough to help you get up again when you feel like you can't get up? Salvation in Jesus Christ is not a one time event where our lives drastically change when we find out about Jesus. It is a sanctification process and a cleansing of our soul (1 Corinthians 6:11-11). We may think that God's grace is only for people who don't know God yet and once we do, everything gets better and we just have to everything right but that is not true. God's Grace is in our daily slip-ups, the ongoing struggles, the things that keep us up at night (2 corinthians 12:9). Its easy to think God is angry with us when we make mistakes or can't have faith but the truth is God's love is patient and long-suffering towards us. God has more patience and tolerance with us than any flesh will. God is not limited to our human understanding or our emotions. He doesn’t just love us. God is love (1 John 4:8). You can't shock God enough to make Him give up on you; God knows your mistakes and your lack of faith; God has seen everything humans have done since the beginning of time, He has heard every thought, and He knows every secret. EVERYTIME you fall down, he will pick you up. You can’t push Him past the limits of His love. When a voice whispers, “You are disqualified” or “You’ve blown it one too many times” it is not the One who calls you beloved. What God asks of us isn’t perfection; it’s to keep showing up and trying again in His strength. When we dare to do so, God rejoices like a parent watching their child learn to walk. The stories that give Him the most glory aren’t the tidy ones; they are the ones that include two words: But God. I struggled with something for years, but God… I made mistakes that I regret, but God… I wanted to give up, but God… Give Him whatever is causing you shame, guilt, discouragement, or fear. He is strong enough to hold all of it and loving enough to hold you in it. God wants to use even your weaknesses and failures to show His strength and faithfulness. Does God feel far away from you some mornings? Sometimes nothing bad may happen, you might not be facing hardship at home or a deadline at school or conflict within relationships. You pray, but the room feels silent. You worship, but your heart feels numb. You stand in faith, but circumstances don’t change. It’s in these moments that we need to remember one of the most powerful revelations of God's character—Jehovah Shammah, “The Lord is There” (Ezekial 48:35). This name was declared when God brought restoration to Jerusalem, He sealed it with a promise: “From that day forward, the name of the city shall be, ‘The Lord is There.’” He is not just "the God who was." He is "the God who is." Not “was there,” not “will be there," But He is there, right now. In your pain, your silence, your uncertainty, He is present. Jesus didn't just say, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5). He made a covenant. His presence is not based on how you feel; It is based on who He is. Let this be the declaration over your life today: “Jehovah Shammah—The Lord is here with me.”

  • God's Hope | Healingforyou

YOU have Victory in Jesus! In this world we will have tribulation (James 1:2); But be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). Jesus Christ lives in you and He that is in you is greater than the one of this world (1 John 4:4). So, you can overcome anything and do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13, Galatians 2:20). YOU have Victory in Jesus! In this world we will have tribulation (James 1:2); But be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world (John 16: 33, 16-17). The one who overcame this world is greater than he who is in this world (1 John 4:4). Christ lives in you so you can overcome anything and do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13, (Galatians 2:20). You and I are not perfect, God understands (Romans 3:23). Therefore; Jesus, being the form of God, came in the likeliness of man to give us life and hope (John 1:1-14, John 14:6, John 14:20, Philippians 2:5-9). Jesus ONLY said and did what was from our Heavenly Father (John 12:49-50, John 8:28, John 8:38, John 10:36-38, Hebrews 10:7). Jesus is the way to the Father, He is The Word of God (Revelation 19:13, John 1:1-3, John 14:6). Jesus bore the punishment of all our sins voluntarily (John 10:18). We are not defined or stuck in what hurts us; because God helps us be sanctified into His image (2 Corinthians 3:18) Jesus promises to keep us from the evil one, He is the good shepherd that guides us to safety (2 Thessalonians 3:3, psalm 121:7-8,John 10:11). Jesus is our promise of a Hope and future: A Home where there is no more death nor sorrow nor crying (Revelation 21:4). Connect with God and pray for wisdom from His Holy Spirit to understand how Jesus came to heal the blind, sick and mute including you (Matthew 15:30). Through the Holy Spirit, we can understand the hope and love God gives us in Jesus, the amount of patience and forgiveness He has for us, and His unlimited mercies towards us (Lamentations 3:22-23). Through Jesus, we are given the Holy Spirit to help and guide us in everything ( John 16:7,13). The Good Shepherd 2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. Psalms 121:7-8 The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever. Matthew 28:20 And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. John 14:18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you Matthew 24:30 God did not leave us here alone, He has a plan for restoration for us. His name is Jesus and He is making a home for you: John 14:2-3 "In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." Ephesians 2:19-22 - 'Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.' Matthew 14:24-31 It can be hard to see God in the storm. The Disciples also struggled to see Jesus in the storm (Matthew 8:23-27, Matthew 14:25-27). Do not be discouraged, you are not alone, Jesus is there with you, He says it is okay, have faith in Him. God can rebuke any storm in your life and rescue you out of the water, no matter how deep it is. Did you know that nothing including water itself cannot surpass God's command? (Proverbs 8:29, Lamentations 3:37-38). Even the Disciples were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” The storm will pass and the chaos around you will cease . You have a future of peace and hope (Jeremiah 29:11); A future filled with God’s goodness and love and beauty forever (Psalm 27:4). It is a future filled with God himself at the throne to protect you (Psalm 47:8). Romans 5:15 For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many . And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ . Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners , so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. God's Comfort There is purpose for your troubles. James 1:1-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 'As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.' - Isaiah 66:13 We are not abandoned in the storm left to defend for ourselves (John 14:18). God does not bring grief or trouble willingly to us (Lamentations 3:33). Troubles are all part of God's Good plan (Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28). Trials exercise endurance, not to break you but to strengthen you (James 1: 3). So let that endurance grow (James 1:4). Don’t look for an escape, but lean into God and learn through Him. God is always working for the good of His people (Romans 8:28), and according to Romans 8:29, this good purpose is to make us like Christ. Our trials are where our most important lessons are learned. We learn from our mistakes and difficult situations. Our Trails have a purpose, and are ALL part of our loving heavenly Father’s plan to conform us to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles , so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. It is UNTRUE that troubles only come to weak, disobedient people or to those who don’t have enough faith. Job was considered blameless and upright in the eyes of the LORD and so was Jesus. Always discern man's report with the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we try to find an escape through our trials or attempt to run away from them. We may fill our lives with busyness and foundations not laid on Christ as a means to "help" our pain. These temporary solutions do not fix what needs healing, only God can. What is troubling you? List it down, lift your hands and surrender them to God. Car trouble, injuries, job loss or financial difficulties, rebellious children or marriage failure, Give God your feelings of rejection, insecurity, guilt, shame, depression, worry, rage, and envy. God knows your circumstances right now. He knows the various troubles you are experiencing and wants you to come to Him, rely on Him to get you through. When God walked this earth, He endured the same kinds of trials, temptations, and sufferings we suffer today. Through the valley of the shadow of death, God will be there with you and comfort you, so you will have no need to fear evil. (Psalm 23:4) “Why did this happen? Why me? Why now?” More fruitful questions: “What can I learn from this about God’s grace? About the love of His Son? About the comfort of the Holy Spirit? What important truth is God teaching me at this point in my journey?” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. Troubles are an opportunity to grow & spend time with God

  • Overlooked | Healingforyou

God has a purpose for you. You are God's Creation, not useless or worthless; For all things were created through and for Christ (Colossians 1:16) God has a purpose for you . When God speaks a Word over your life, nobody's actions or opinion towards you can stop or change it. God spoke Jeremiah 29:11 over your life before you were born. Even when you feel invisible, God sees you and knows exactly where you are at. You are a special paintbrush to God. Just like each paintbrush is purposely designed differently for their individual purposes, God intentionally created you for this world because you have a God-given purpose here that nobody can do exactly like how God will use you. God's Creation is not useless or worthless; For all things were created through and for Christ (Colossians 1:16). *Your situation might feel horrible towards you but God is good and just; He has GOOD plans for you and works ALL things out for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28, Psalm 136). 1/3 Judges 3:15 Again the Israelites cried out to the LORD, and He gave them a deliverer—Ehud, a left-handed man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute to Eglon king of Moab. Benjamite - Tribe of Benjamin - Definition of Benjamin: "Son of the right hand" in Hebrew. Loneliness The Story of Ehud The Left-Handed Benjamite: The children of Israel served Eglon, king of Moab, for eighteen years under oppression because they did evil in the sight of the Lord (Judges 3:14). The Israelites cried out to God and God showed mercy by raising up, a left-handed Benjamite named Ehud to deliver them (Judges 3:15). MAN MAY NOT SEE YOU, BUT GOD DOES. *Have you felt like a left-handed person in a right-handed group? Ehud felt overlooked, left out and less than too yet God chose him. God can and will use you too. *Do you feel like you don't fit in? You don't have what it takes like other people? God chose Ehud over 26,000 Benjamite soldiers and 700 left-handed men (Judges 20:15-16). Ehud was also chosen out of 400,000 men of war in israel (Judges 20:17). God created you for a specific purpose. It does not matter if you are "not created like the rest of them" as deceiving thoughts tell us. Ehud was wonderfully and fearfully created , unique to his environment/tribe and was used apart of God's big plan to deliver Israel. Ehud is an example for many of us who feel overlooked, to see that God has good plans for everyone including you (Jeremiah 29:11).

  • SELF CARE | Healingforyou

Self-care is not a means to "increase" your beauty because you are already wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14)! It is taking care of Your Body: The SACRED Temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 3:16-17) GODLY WORLDLY SELF-CARE Self-care should not be used as a means to "increase" your beauty because you are already wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14)! Self-care is taking care of Your Body: The SACRED Temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:9, 3:16-17, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). In the princess movie "Cinderella", the Fairy Godmother makes cinderella “beautiful” by putting her in a pretty dress , doing her makeup and her hair. The Truth is: Jesus came down from heaven to tell us that we are already wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14). We don't need make-up, creams or perfumes to "look/smell better." The power of the Holy Spirit and Jesus works beyond physical products and substances. Jesus healed and worked miracles without medicine! Jesus Himself is our cure, our healer, and our doctor. Let your supplications be known to Him. Remember, any statement that does not come from God's Truth about you is a lie. Do not listen to lies about your identity e.g. you are ugly, or not good enough; Trust God's never-changing, absolute TRUTH about you. Reflection: Do you believe that it is possible for God to change you the way that He changed Moses? Pray to God and invite Him to show you what you mean to Him. You are beautiful Romans 3:23-24 | Psalm 23:3 | Psalm 49:8-9 We ALL Fall Short of The Glory of God But your soul is costly & redeemed by Jesus God is love (1 John 4:8). He loves you wherever you are in your journey. Nothing you do will make him love you less or more, we are not saved by our works but God's grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). God doesn't expect you to be perfect and holy, that is why He sent us Jesus. Jesus died for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). Jesus helps us become worthy to come to God (II Thessalonians 1:4-6, II Thessalonians 1:11-12). Through His sacrifice, the Lord Jesus shows the high value and worth we are to him. Your life is worth Jesus who is loved dearly to God (John 15:9). So, despite your past, your sins, your pains and your feelings of worthlessness, God invites your to draw near and in return He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Your soul is costly redeemed by Jesus (Psalm 23:3, Psalm 49:8-9). In Matthew 11:28–30, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” He invites us to come to Him regardless of the state we're in. Our relationship with the Lord is incomparable to any relationship on earth. There is absolutely no expectation of perfection. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Apostle Paul affirms how the Lord told him, ”My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." We will never be able to achieve perfection; yet in our sinful state, God still says “come to Me.” We don’t have to put on our best or cover up parts of our life we aren’t satisfied with. God is for you. "I Am Not Good Enough" - Moses (Exodus 4) God chose Moses to free His people, the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Moses was filled with fears that he would be unsuccessful/incapable to complete the task. We learn from God's interaction with him that God will equip us with the strength and resources to do all that He has purposed us to do e.g. God gave Moses a staff to prove He spoke with God if the Israelites did not believe Moses (Exodus 4:1-5). • “Moses said to God, ‘Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?’” (Exodus 3:11) • “Then Moses said, ‘What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say? For they may say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you’” (Exodus 4:1). Moses says to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” (Exodus 4:10) God reminded Moses of His control over everything: “Who gave human beings their mouths? ... Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say” (Exodus 4:11-12). Focus on God's power instead of your shortcomings. Your competence comes from God: "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills but the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:5-6). God's grace is sufficient in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). "If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen" (I Peter 4:11). Trust God, Not Self: God didn’t spend time trying to boost Moses’ self-confidence. Rather, God reminded Moses that he should put his confidence in Him. God wants us to put all of our trust in Him. After all, God is the only one who is powerful enough to overcome the Pharaoh in our lives. As Moses grew in his trust in the Lord, God used him to accomplish a great deliverance. Moses is now known as one of the greatest leaders in biblical history not because he was such a brave guy but because of his faith in God’s great power of redemption. What God did for Moses, He can do for you. You can rest in the knowledge that if God is calling you to do something, His grace will be effective in your life too! You are not "an accident" or "a mistake." God created you with intention and purpose. INSECURE FEELING PSALM 139:11-16 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:17-19 If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. Genesis 1:27 You are made in God's Image and likeness! We are made for Gods glory 'Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”'- Isaiah 43:7 Your qualities reflect God's character to bring Glory and praise to Him (Isaiah 43:21, Isaiah 43:21). Take a moment to consider how God uniquely designed you. What qualities, gifts, talents, or experiences do you have that reflect God? I Corinthians 15:39 'All flesh is not the same flesh , but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.' '“Remember these, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me!' - Isaiah 44:21 What does fearfully and wonderfully mean? Genesis 1:2-4: Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. The God who comprehensively designed our world in the beginning of time created you in your mother's womb (Revelation 4:11, Psalms 146:5-10). "I was woven together in the depths of the earth" (Psalm 139:14-15) God spoke creation into the world (Genesis 1), but for you, God did not just speak you into existence, He sculpted you. God declares everything He created is good, this includes you! (Genesis 1:31). Remember, you are a light (Matthew 5:14). No man can define you because only God truely knows you before you were even born (Jeremiah 1:5). When you take time to explore the details of our world today such as the ecosystems, nature and animals; we can see how every bit of it is beautiful and works together wonderfully. Take note of the different shapes, sizes and textures you see in your favourite animals. No animal, even from the same species is created the same. You are God's masterpiece and gift to Jesus: Ephesians 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." John 17:6-10 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. Isaiah 46:3-4 Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob, all the remnant of the people of Israel, you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Ask Yourself... * How has culture/expectations shaped how you view yourself? * What does God's Truth say about these strongholds built on lies? * How can you fully embrace your body as a vessel for the Holy Spirit rather than a project to be improved? When the Enemy Attacks Who You Are: 1. Come to God's Word (The Sword of the Spirit): What hurtful words have been spoken over you? Bring these statements before the Word of God. Reflect and ask yourself: Is there anywhere in God’s Word where it is written that this statement is true about me? Ask the Lord to reveal who you are to Him: You are loved in Christ Jesus (John 17:26). Therefore make every thought and every word obedient to Christ with full submission to God's Truth. 2. Pray in Jesus' Name: Through Jesus, we attain righteousness in God (Breastplate of righteousness). “In the strong name of Jesus, whose I belong, who lives in me, and who is helping me become like Him, I break the curse of these words and its impact on me. I surrender them at your cross and choose to forgive as you have forgiven me in Jesus' name, amen." 3. Focus on the Grace of God in Jesus: God suffered much for us in the flesh of Jesus. He took on the punishment for all of our sins. Whatever has been used against you; will be used for your good (Genesis 50:20). Put up your shield of faith in Jesus' love for you and keep your mind on the salvation of Christ (Helmet of Salvation). Choose to come to Jesus and ask Him to help you walk in peace (Shoes of peace). Bedtime Routine It can be hard to sleep/rest. Try use this time as an opportunity to talk with God. Psalms 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety. Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Morning Routine Invite God to talk to you in the morning. His voice bring will bring you peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). God is your Heavenly Father who loves you. Our God of Peace invites us into His peace (John 14:27) Bible Devotionals, God's Word + Worship music can uplift your mornings with God. ONLY GOD YOUR CREATOR DEFINES YOU YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY: Who your parents were & say you are People's opinion about you Relationships where you were not your best self Mistakes you have made in the past Your trauma, fears & anxieties GOD SAYS.. You are Loved (Romans 8:38-39, John 3:16-17) You are chosen, God's special possession (1 Peter 2:9, Ephesians 1:11) You are Worthy to be Alive ( Psalm 139:16, Psalm 139:13) Wonderfully and Fearfully made (Psalm 139:14) You are more than a conqueror in Christ (Romans 8:37) You are the Holy Spirit's Temple (1 Corinthians 6:19)

  • Healing Trauma | Healingforyou

God teaches us how to heal from our trauma responses, how to appeal to Him and forgive others as we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Healing Trauma Trauma is when an event hurts you and develops into unhelpful knowledge based on hurt instead of God's Truth. It can interfere with our daily living and perspective on God's Truth & promises to us. Ephesians 6:12 'For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.' Whose report will you believe? God's Report is truth. Are you basing your actions / thoughts on God's report or own understanding of a situation? We are encouraged to bring our thoughts obedient to Christ because our own understanding based on the past is not always based truth (2 Corinthians 10:5). When we base our decisions and actions on our own understanding, we rely on trauma to dictate our behaviours; like a builder who builds the foundation of his house on sand (Matthew 7:26-27). When the storms come his foundation is shaken whereas the foundation of Christ, our Rock (Psalm 18:2, Isaiah 44:8,) does not shake . ' The things that come out of our mouths show our own heart (Matthew 15:18, Luke 6:45). When we aren't connected to the true vine: Jesus, we are unable to bear His fruits of love, peace, kindness properly (John 15:1-8). So do not go against anyone as a person and do not get revenge, leave justice to God. Pray for them to be connected to Jesus so they can be delivered from their hurt. We are all creations of God, God wants us to treat all like so. Matthew 5:1-12 How to Heal from Trauma: Injustice Trauma Stay close to God 1 Through your trails and tribulations, God does not slumber, and He will not let your foot slip (Psalms 121:3-4). Our God is an ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1) and keeps His covenant of mercy throughout generations (Deuteronomy 7:9). God has knowledge and experience of the injustices we go through. Jesus suffered mistreatment based on false accusations. For example: As recorded in John 18:19-24, an officer struck Jesus for answering the high priest truthfully. "Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?” (John 18:23). Jesus was beaten, mocked and crucified based on false accusations; Yet God had a good plan for it all before it even happened - before Jesus was conceived - to save humanity (Psalm 110:1, Isaiah 7:14). Jesus knew what was to come and voluntarily surrendered to God's will to save us (Luke 22:42, John 10:17-18). Jesus ended up conquering death and hades (Revelation 1:18), and is exalted on the right hand of God (Psalm 110:1, Philippians 2:9-11). God is just (2 Thessalonians 1:6-8), and we are created in His image (Genesis 1:27). Therefore, we are created to feel for justice (Ephesians 2:10). That is why injustice can make us mad. God feels anger towards injustice too, righteously (Psalm 7:11-13). It can be hard to tell authority figures what has happened to you. It is hard to take things to court emotionally, spiritually and physically. We see in our world, perpetrators "getting away" with "no consequence" but nobody can escape the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Have you seen injustice in your life or family? Are you a victim of sexual, physical or emotional abuse? I am so sorry you went through that pain. Your testament of pain and heartbreak does not stay as that, your experience can help someone suffering the same exact thing as you (1 Corinthians 9:22) Psalms 11:7 “For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice; the upright will see His face.” Only God can bring true justice: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (Galatians 6:7). Abusers may not be brought to justice "now", but we all have to face God for the things spoken and done (2 Corinthians 5:10). Just like we see in the Tower of Babel, God does not allow evil to prosper (Ecclesiastes 8:13,Psalm 37:1-25) With God, justice prevails throughout history, and we as the victims have an advocate and judge who will make everything right (Romans 8:28). Allow God to be your defender :) Appeal to God 2 Vindicate me, O God, And plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man! - Psalm 43:1 Have you been falsely accused or robbed of justice? 1 Peter 4:12-15 "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler." The apostles also suffered injustice when they were beaten for spreading the name of Jesus yet they exclaimed the importance of obeying God above all (Acts 5:40). Ask God to vindicate you (Psalms 35). King David faced the dangers of the wilderness and kingship as his life was constantly threatened, through these experiences of injustice, He kept appealing to God. God is capable of doing the things we think are impossible (Matthew 19:26). You might be in court for a legal matter, God is there for you. He can speak to judges and kings because He is the Lord of all, cry to him and let God do the rest (Exodus 14:14). Leave Revenge to God 3 'Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. ' - Romans 12:19 Revenge is one of the most common reactions we have to injustice. We see it in almost every movie -even superhero movies made for children! 1 Peter 3:9-18 'Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing , because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer , but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats ; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.' Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. ' Have you ever wanted revenge? Peter, a disciple chosen by God, felt the same when Jesus was arrested (John 18:10-11). Whether you have been victimised by gossip, adultery or an immoral workplace, a lot of us think about getting back at people but hurting them does not solve anything, it spreads the pain and feeds anger. When someone sins against you, they sin against Christ (1 Corinthians 8:12). God will defend you. He is bigger than any injustice; and makes all things right. Feelings of helplessness and/or hopelessness Unpredictable/impulsive emotions and reactions Lack of trust in others including authority figures Betrayal Trauma Trouble recognising or expressing emotions Struggle Trusting God/Love (1 Corinthians 13:4–8) Unforgiveness/hateful thoughts God is love and love always trusts (1 John 4:8, 1 Corinthians 13:7). It is hard to trust when it has been broken, but there is someone who will never break your trust: Jesus, who is the same, yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus is the true vine that helps us bear fruit (John 15:1-8). When we connect to him, we can bear the fruits of God's Spirit: Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control no matter what our circumstances look like (Galatians 5:22-23). God will not forsake anyone when we make mistakes or fail to show the fruits of His spirit because He knows we all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). God is willing while we are still His "enemies" to give us Jesus to hold our hands through it all (Romans 5:10): Jesus came to heal the blind (spiritually blind: ignorant of what we are doing/sin), sick (spiritually sick: depressed/oppressed + vulnerable to impulsive actions from the evil one), mute (spiritually mute: unable to speak /oppressed). We learn how to love thy God first with all our heart and soul, and He helps us trust others. God is our rock, unshakeable fortress and refuge in times of trouble (Psalm 18:2). He will help you withstand the betrayal you have faced. Remember, this is not a battle against flesh and blood but evil (Ephesians 6:12). Whatever hurt happened to you, God will turn out for good and restore your soul (Psalm 23:3). Forgiveness is not easy. Not one person recorded in the Bible found it easy, nor were they perfect. King David faced betrayal amongst his friends and his own son. Psalm 55:20-22 'He has put forth his hands against those who were at peace with him; He has broken his covenant. The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, But war was in his heart; His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords. Cast your burden on the Lord , And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.' God encourages us to always be merciful and forgive (Matthew 18:21-35). How? When we learn more about the forgiveness of our sins in Jesus, we are able to forgive others (Ephesians 4:32). Jesus experienced betrayal with His disciples, Peter and Judas, yet washed their feet (John 13:1-20, Matthew 26:69-75, Matthew 26:21-25). When we come close to God, we are able to let go of our perspective and our own understanding of situations/people to see God's love and glory in everything. You can forgive someone and not have a relationship with them, always be led by the Holy Spirit. God encourages us to sow generously, and then we will also reap generously (2 Corinthians 9:6). Let The God of Justice work it out (Romans 12:19-21, Deuteronomy 32:4). We are all human in this battle together and we all fall short of the Glory of God. Pray for them to find Jesus so they can repent and be delivered / healed (Matthew 5:44). Matthew 5:43-48 You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.' Connect to the True Vine 1 Practice Forgiveness 2 Make a plan with God 3 God's promises shine in testimonies where people felt abandoned such as Hagar and Joseph. In testimonies like Paul, former persecutor of the church, God reassures us that He will never abandon us no matter what our situation looks like. God encourages us to pray about everything, He wants to talk with us and help us like a Father helps His child (Philippians 4:6-7). By praying, we allow God to help us in our free will. God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty (I Corinthians 1:27). God's grace is sufficient in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Learning about God's character helps us understand His endless mercies, love, and compassion towards us and generations (Psalm 100:5). You are never truely abandoned. Start by building on your relationship with God first, He will show you His ever-present help available at all times. God is known as El Roi (The God who sees), Jehovah Rapha (Our God who heals), Immanuel (God with us), Jehovah Jireh (Our provider) and much more! The world and our own parents may forsake us, but God promises never to forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6-8, Psalm 27:10). God did not leave us here as orphans to defend for ourselves, Jesus promises to be here to help us (John 14:18). God loves you so much He sent Jesus to be your friend close to you at all times (John 3:16, Galatians 2:20). God calls us a friend (John 15:15). No greater friend is one who lays down his life for us, Jesus (John 15:13). God offers us safety in Jesus and wearing the armour of God, we are able to withstand anything (Ephesians 6:10-18). We don't need kings or men or princes, just God to withstand all that comes in our life (Psalm 60:11, John 14:26 , Hebrews 8:11). However, God blesses us with people to share fellowship with and love for God, to experience God's love and kindness, God allows these moments to come in the right timing, when you are ready. Spend time with God 2 God's promise of safety 3 God encourages us to 'cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret— it only causes harm' (Psalms 37:8). God will heal your heart and wounds (Psalm 147:3). The Holy Spirit will guide you and help you in truth (John 16:13). Even though you stumble, you will not fall, God will hold you (Psalm 37:24). God continues to say keep trying, walk in love (Ephesians 5:2), and do not be weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. I John 3:1-2 'Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. ' How can you take steps to forgive and move on from someone who betrayed you? How can you leave justice up to God? The Parable of the lost son is an example of God's forgiveness towards us after we betray Him (Luke 15:11-32). Betrayal helps us understand what God goes through on a daily basis with His own creation. Rejection Trauma Negative assumptions about others Inability or unwillingness to connect with others The need to control/change things only God can. Unhealthy people pleasing tendencies Rejection = Protection 1 Abandonment Trauma Fear of being left behind or abandoned Inability to form healthy relationships Low self-esteem and self-worth Anxious or avoidant attachment tendencies Start with God 1 When we feel rejected by people, it is easy to say that God has rejected us too or abandoned us, but this is not true. God promises to never hold his anger against us forever (Psalm 103:9) . No door that God opens for you can be shut (Revelation 3:7-8). God is reject throughout generations but do not worry , the last will be first in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 20:16).There is a time for everything and God made everything good for its time (Ecclesiastes 3:1-11). Keep your mind on things above not here where moth and vermin destroy. Let yourself feel the pain of rejection, lament to God. Yes it hurts, but remember God will have something better for you because He has plans to prosper you not harm you (Jeremiah 29:11). Jesus gives us a good example in the garden of Gethsemane when he says "Never-less let your will be done" (Matthew 26:36-46)., it can be hard to surrender our lives like Jesus, especially when we struggle to trust God with the hurt you have faced. But that's okay, God is ready to meet you where you are and guide you. His Will for you is GOOD, and you can put your trust in that (Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28). God, your creator, defines you not what happens to you or someone's opinion. God's Word about you is the Truth (john 17:17). Anything else is a lie. If someone does not like you, or you did not receive a job, it does not mean there is something wrong with you. Remember, God makes everything good in its time and your time is coming (Ecclesiastes 3:11)! God does not look at our outward appearance but at our hearts (1 Samuel 16:7). God's love for you is not defined on what you can do, we are saved by grace not works (Ephesians 2:8-10). God's love for you will never change and nothing can seperate you from it (Romans 8:38-39). Surrender it to God 2 Luke 17:25 (NKJV) But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. Rejection Does NOT Define you 3

  • God's Strength | Healingforyou

Our strength comes from THE LORD. When you feel weak or incapable, God encourages you to rely on His Spirit. Testimonies in the Bible give us insight into God's ability to deliver and save. Joshua 1:9 Be Strong and Courageous. Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. God's Strength "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty " The God who rescued Daniel from the lions den (Daniel 6:22), Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the furnace (Daniel 3:8-25) , Moses and the Israelites (Exodus 14:30-31) will save you too. Romans 8:31-34 God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Prayer inspired by Psalms 25 'Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, For I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart have enlarged; Bring me out of my distresses! Look on my affliction and my pain, And forgive all my sins. Keep my soul, and deliver me; Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You. Redeem Israel, O God, Out of all their troubles!' "This situation may be bigger than me but God is BIGGER" Sovereign (Adjective) : possessing supreme or ultimate power. We have a sovereign God , Maker of the Heavens and Earth, (Acts 4;24). He has power above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all (Ephesians 1:21-23): God defeated multiple giants through His people such as Moses with the Israelites, and David with his men. "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty" (1 Samuel 17:45). Goliath was taken down by the power of God resting on young David; who was appointed kingship by God. These testimonies exemplify how God can overcome all the things we view as giants in our lives. David did not defeat Goliath because he was strong. God's power empowered him to defend the people of God who were being threatened. Your "Goliath" could be an upcoming meeting, or school project. Just like King David, God will use you for His Glory. It doesn't matter how big the problem is, God is bigger than them ALL so let your requests be known and Let God protect you in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:5-9). When nobody understands you, remember God does. God fashioned our hearts, He knows us all individually (Psalms 33:15). God knows your struggles, needs, fears and pain before you can express it to Him (Matthew 6:8). He knows all of your heart and mind even when you don't (Jeremiah 17:10, Romans 8:27-29).God knows what you can handle and what you can't (1 Corinthians 10:13), and despite your weaknesses, He loves you perfectly in return to give Jesus Christ to save you (John 3:16). The Holy Spirit searches all things and knows the thoughts of all men and God (I Corinthians 2:10-16, Colossians 3:11). God wants us to come to Him for understanding, because only He knows your whole life. God gives understanding and wisdom generously (James 1:5). Keep asking him for understanding, He won't be mad at you for asking. The source of our strength comes from God (Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 18:39). Our help comes from Jehovah Jireh, our provider (Psalm 121:1-2). We all fall short of the Glory of God, it is God who works in us to accomplish great things (Romans 3:23, Philippians 2:13). God wants us to surrender to Him and believe. Surrender the need to fight every battle your way and let the God of peace take control. The way we connect to our Heavenly Father is through Jesus (John 14:6). Jesus is the solid foundation we can fall upon that cannot be shaken (2 Timothy 2:19); that doesn't mean we won't get overwhelmed or never make mistakes, it means we FALL upon God and He will uphold us with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10). God is our refuge, our safety tower (Psalm 61:3). Do you believe that it is possible for God to deliver you the same way that He delivered Moses and the Israelites? How can you pray for God's strength in areas of your life where you need it most right now? How does God's strength differ from human strength? What are the unique characteristics of God's strength that you appreciate? Hebrews 11:32-34 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong , became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Judges 14:6 The Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon him so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done. Psalm 77:14-15 Our strength comes from the arm of the Lord of Redemption: You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among the peoples. You have with Your arm redeemed Your people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah Our security and strength comes from trusting in God's power and grace, not in human or animal strength: Psalms 33:16-17 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. A horse is a vain hope for safety ; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. Psalm 147: 10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29, 31 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD. 1 Corinthians 3:21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours. And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s. 1 Corinthians 4:9-10 For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! Psalm 144:1-2 Blessed be the LORD my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle— My lovingkindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My shield and the One in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me. Psalm 135:10-11 He defeated many nations And slew mighty kings— Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan Psalm 132:8 Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. Psalm 35:10 All my bones shall say, “LORD, who is like You, Delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, Yes, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?” God Saves King David Psalm 144:10-11 'For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favoured them.' Psalms 44:3 'Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.' Psalms 60:12 1 'Your God has commanded your strength; Strengthen, O God, what You have done for us.' Psalms 68:28 2 'O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!' Psalms 68:35 3 'I will go in the strength of the Lord God ; I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.' Psalms 71:16 4 Psalms 74:13-17 You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea serpents in the waters. You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces, And gave him as food to the people inhabiting the wilderness. You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up mighty rivers. The day is Yours, the night also is Yours; You have prepared the light and the sun. You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter.

  • You are Beautiful | Healingforyou

God does not look at our outward appearance but our heart (1 Samuel 16:7). When you feel too weak to put on makeup or a smile on your face, when you can't find the strength to go outside or do another day, you can surrender to God's love and grace for you in Jesus Christ. El Roi Sees You. & you don't have to be perfect for Him to love you. In your weakest moments; when you are sick, a mess, all the times when you are broken, God is willing to help you. God knows we are but mere flesh, He is compassionate and forgives us of our iniquity (Psalms 78:38-39, 1 John 1:9). God knows our sinful likeliness yet He sees through all of it and sees His daughter/son. God does not look at our outward appearance but our heart (1 Samuel 16:7). When you feel too weak to put on makeup or a smile on your face, when you can't find the strength to go outside or do another day, you can surrender to God's love and grace. You do not need your parents, your spouse or friends to validate you, Only El Roi who will understand you and never treat you with ill intent. God is willing to meet you where you are, showing grace to you through all your weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:9). Hebrews 4:13-16 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. I Peter 4:2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. "Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." Isaiah 64:8 NIV Job 12:7-9 (NIV): "But ask the animals, and they will teach you; ask the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?" Observe the beauty of puppies and all the animals God created, everything God created is good (Genesis 1:31, 1 Timothy 4:4). They never look in mirrors yet they are so beautiful. They do not need makeup, and the same goes for us. You don't have to put on makeup for God to love you. God actually encourages us not to walk in the lusts of our flesh and self indulgence but walk in the spirit and will of God (1 Peter 4:2, Romans 8:4) He respects you and loves you without having to dress-up a certain way, God wants us to dress with humility (I Peter 5:5). God beautifies the humble with salvation (Psalm 149:4). He loves you because that is who He is: Love (1 John 4:8). We may think makeup protects us from bullies but the truth is that God protect us, not makeup. The Lord says, "Every tongue that rise up against you, you shall condemn." (Isaiah 54:17) You are beautiful without having to show your sacred body parts. The greatest command for us is to walk in love, meaning respecting our husbands, brothers and sisters with our body, and respect the God who created it. Our God commands us to be modest and let our beauty not come from outward but inward (1 Timothy 2:9-10, Proverbs 31:30, 1 Peter 3:3-6, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Romans 12:2). I Peter 3:3-6 'Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.' Our Beauty comes from God & The Holy Spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control is beautiful (Galatians 5:22-23), not our corruptible, sinful flesh (1 Corinthians 15:42-54). One day, this flesh will perish so we should focus on cleaning our spirit not self indulging and satisfying flesh (Galatians 5:16). Have you been called ugly? Out the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, meaning that a person's words reveal what is in their heart rather than anything about you (Luke 6:45, Matthew 12:34). Do not define yourself on the wisdom of man but on the truth of God (Proverbs 3:5-6, 1 Corinthians 2:5). The power of God lives inside you and it threatens the evil one who is the ugly one because it is separated from God (Galatians 2:20, James 3:15-17). 1 Peter 4:4-5 'In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.' When people call you ugly, you can find comfort in the truth that all will have to give account to God (Romans 14:12, 2 Corinthians 5:10) Who is man to define your beauty except our God who created you and sees every part of you? Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. When you eat, remember life is more than your body. Make your thoughts obedient to Christ (II Corinthians 10:5-7) and don't focus on your outward appearance (such as your weight) which perishes; But receive everything you eat in thanksgiving (1 Timothy 4:4). Set your mind on the spirit not flesh (Romans 8:5-9). Our "last words" on earth won't be "Why did I eat that chocolate cake?" Our corruptible flesh will perish: ( II Corinthians 4:16-18) Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. Our Final Victory: (1 Corinthians 15:50-58) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
