ANXIETY

Intense / excessive feelings of worry and fear

Psalms 94:16-19
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? Unless the Lord had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord , will hold me up.' In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.'

WHAT TROUBLES YOU?
e.g. "I am feeling nervous for a class project"

REMIND YOURSELF OF GOD'S TRUTH
e.g. "I can do all things through Christ."

LEAN ON GOD'S POWER
e.g. "I'll do great cause God is on my side"

The waters cannot surpass God's command,  'Are You not the One who dried up the sea, The waters of the great deep; That made the depths of the sea a road For the redeemed to cross over?'

Isaiah 51:10 | Isaiah 55:11 | Proverbs 8:29 | Psalms 33:9

Intimidation can be a reason we lose hope.
Our situation may feel TOO BIG OR TOO CHALLENGING, especially when it happens for a long period of time, but keep your faith in God who is capable of acting in big, miraculous ways for you just like He did with Jesus.

What are some intimidating things that you are struggling with? How can you place them in God's hands today? Invite the Holy Spirit to help you have faith in Christ during your battles in day to day life.
Thank you Lord for being with us in our storms and battles, our fears and worries. We invite the Holy Spirit to help us have faith in Jesus during these times. May God break down our walls of own understanding based on rejection, abandonment and trauma and replace it with God's good knowledge of the world. This world can look scary but we declare our Faith in God's goodness and grace. Thank you Jesus for shining your countenance upon those struggling with anxiety and depression. May we not focus on the fearful things we see and hear in this world but God's grace and glory through everything.  Thank you God for protecting us from evil in Jesus' name, amen.
God protects His people:
Rahab and the spies (Joshua 2)

Two spies are sent to check the city of Jericho. When they are close to being captured, Rahab (A resident of Jericho) helps them and hides them. She had hope that God would protect her and her family as she protected God's people: The spies. God saves her family for her Faith (Hebrews 11:31, Joshua 6:23).
The Israelites had to cross through Jericho to get to the promised land.  It was a massive city with a large fortified wall and strong fighting army. Yet, God instructed the Israelites to sing praises unto Him to break down the walls of Jericho.

From a flesh and blood perspective, this seemed like an impossible way to fight a battle. Despite their circumstances, the Israelites obeyed God's command, dying to their own understanding of fighting their battles. They exalted the Lord over their earthly understanding, fears and worries. And God provided, He broke down the walls, and prevented Jericho from harming His people. God will protect you from the flaming arrows too. Put on His armour before you fight your battle  (Ephesians 6:10-18) and surrender to what God wants you to do (Joshua 1:16-17). If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31).  God will keep you safe ( Psalm 121:7-8, Psalm 4:8). Is your battle an upcoming test or interview? Surrender your battle to God as the Israelites did and let Him guide you. God fights for us (Exodus 14:14).

God dwells in the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3).

When you are feeling anxious, fearful, worried, overwhelmed, turn to God's music and sing praises unto Him. By doing this, you can focus on Jesus in your storm and invite God's presence of light where darkness cannot dwell (John 1:5).

God's promises to be with you and protect you

Joshua 1:3-9

Joshua 1:5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous, Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go
Psalm 121:7-8  The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

The Walls of Jericho

Joshua 6:1-27
